Pallet pooling (transporting with pallets) means goods loaded on pallets and transported to its destination, when the goods arrived, the workers could easily unload the goods with forklift only, and the pallets can be used by other users for loading goods to the next destinations again and again.
To realize true pallet pooling, there must a pallet that can enter all kinds of workshops of all industries, and it should meet the customer requirements in saving loading & unloading efforts, low rent, high deductible and multiple sizes.
Pooling with wooden pallets
Although wooden pallets are suitable for leasing with low rent and high deductible, repairable; but there are limited sizes available, wood chip problem, mold issue and no residual value. The production of wooden pallets relies heavily on deforestation, which is not conducive to ecological environment protection.
Wooden pallets cannot enter the factory workshops in some industries, and the problem is that when A goods arrive at B factory, B needs transfer the goods onto its own plastic pallets for entering its workshop, and when final products are finished, they have to be loaded onto wooden pallets (considering high cost of plastic pallet) for transporting to C, so wooden pallets can not realize true pallet pooling.
Pooling with Traditional Plastic pallets
Traditional plastic pallets can enter all workshops, good-looking appearance, no need for transferring goods between pallets.
However, high rent and zero deductible due to high damage cost (because of one-piece forming process) and limited size availability, many customers would rather purchase than rent the traditional plastic pallets. New pallet size requires investing in a new injection mold, high investment in molding and production equipment.
Above all, with wooden pallets, it cannot realize true pallet pooling, only plastic pallets could do it, however, we need to upgrade the design of traditional plastic pallet.
Assembled plastic pallets with replaceable anti-collision edge strips could lower the damage and repair cost by 90%, and with great size availability and high residual value, assembled plastic pallet constitutes the only solution to realize real pallet pooling.
When user quantity exceeds one hundred with rental quantity reaches 2 million pieces in both city A and B, then on-pallet transportation can be implemented between these two cities. Repeating this model till a closed circle formed nationally.
Due to the different sizes of pallets in each country, it is impossible to achieve global pallet pooling, whether it is wooden pallets or traditional plastic pallets.
Assembled plastic pallets use replaceable edge strips. The commonly used pallet is 1200*1000mm, the edge strip width is 10cm, e.g. when such pallet arrives in the USA, where the required pallet is 1140*1140mm, then the edge strips can be replaced with 14cm ones, or vice versa.
